Exciting News! Effective August 2020, Dr. Amlung is moving to a new faculty position at the University of Kansas. The CNALab will be affiliated with the Cofrin Logan Center for Addiction Research and Treatment and the Department of Applied Behavioral Science. Dr. Amlung will be recruiting graduate students, undergraduate students, and postdoctoral fellows starting Fall 2020. (Graduate students to start Fall 2021).
Research in the CNALab is focused on understanding the cognitive and neural basis of addiction. Although we are interested in many types of addictive behaviors, much of our work involves alcohol and tobacco misuse. Our research combines laboratory and functional neuroimaging methods to examine factors that contribute to pathological decision-making in addicted individuals, motivation to use alcohol and other drugs, and the effects of environmental contexts and physiological states on addictive behaviors. Our hope is that our work will lead to improvement in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of these disorders. We invite you to browse this website to learn more about the lab.
