Co-Coordinators
We are excited to announce the creation of a new working group in the Peter Boris Centre for Addictions Research (PBCAR) focusing on research and clinical applications of non-invasive neuromodulation technologies. The PBCAR recently established a transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) laboratory under the direction of Drs. Michael Amlung and Katherine Naish, who will be co-coordinators of this working group.
Although our primary focus will be use of these technologies in addictive disorders, people with interests in other areas are always welcome to join the group. Also, no prior knowledge or experience with neuromodulation is required.
The group will meet on a weekly basis, on Fridays from 11:00am-1:00pm in the Peter Boris Centre Conference Room (D111). If you unable to attend in person, there is a possibility of doing teleconferencing or Skype. Please speak with Michael about making arrangements.
Each week with include a discussion of recent neuromodulation research, developing designs for studies in the PBCAR, and educational lectures on neuromodulation foundations/safety/methods. The coordinators of the group will also administer a tDCS safety certification course for researchers who would like to use the tDCS equipment.
If you are interested in participating in the group, please contact Michael ([email protected]) or Katherine ([email protected]).
